In order for our school to fulfil its Prevent Duty of preventing radicalisation the school delivers a PHSE curriculum to inform and educate its pupils on how to resist and be aware of the dangers of extremism in all of its forms. The staff have been trained to identify children who may be vulnerable to radicalisation and the schools safeguarding procedures may be initiated if staff are concerned. As a school we build on our pupils resiliance by promoting fundamental British Values thus enabling the children to challenge extremist views. As a school we provide a safe space in which children and staff can understand the risks associated with terrorism and to develop the knowledge and skills to be able to challenge extremist arguements. Our IT policies reflect our concern to ensure that children are not exposed to inappropriate materials and we work closely with partner agencies such as local churches and the police to promote British Values and to ensure that our children are kept safe.
