Recent ActivitiesAfter our amazing superhero theme last term we have kicked off Spring Term with the very exciting topic of Dinosaurs! We have already had an amazing visitor - Millie the 7 year old T-Rex and have had the opportunity to dig for and learn about fossils as well as find out about Mary Anning who was significant to the discovery of fossils on the South coast of England in the 1800's.
In Chestnut Class we have been finding out about plants and flowers. We have been looking at the different parts of a plant and finding out what plants need to grow. We went on a Plant and Tree Treasure Hunt to see which varieties we have growing in the school grounds. Afterwards we explored different ways of sorting the leaves and flowers that we found.
During our Olympic week we were busy learning all about China. China is a country in the continent of Asia. We found out about the people who live in China and how it is different from where we live. We looked at maps; made Origami Samurai Hats; made our own Chinese Flags, made our own Great Wall of Friendship and found out about the story of Chinese New Year. In Chestnut Class we were all born in the year of the Ox or the Tiger.
